The objective of designing a brochure is to convey the maximum amount of information through typography and visual imagery while working within the bounds of the paper folds. By applying flow lines and columns, it’s easier to create contrast by establishing a level of hierarchy, by following a rhythm until an opportunity arises to break that pattern. From this application, a visually engaging brochure is created in a stylistic format.

The subject of the photos was of women at work, photos of workers, people of war, portraits, etc. Lots of imagery that has a bold face and bold lines, the colors reflect that with the purple being a vivid color that reflects its bold nature. The yellow is a complimentary color that adds extra depth to the typography.

This project was to demonstrate my design ability to create a pamphlet of information on Margaret Bourke White. All the photos had to be in grayscale, and using lines of color to give dimension to the piece.

These are flat images of how the pamphlet works with the images and type, however, the challenge in these is making the images and type work as a cohesive unit when folded in on each other.
